any value to this?

any ideas what it might be worth it is stamped 925 in the band and looks to be a real amethist but the band has a small crack in it. should i waste my time to take to to a jewler or just throw it in the junk pile.

Depends on how motivated you are to sell it. It is a pretty design and someone out there will pay more then melt value and have it fixed.
If you know a lady that would like it it would be worth having it fixed polished and presented to her.
I certainly wouldn't junk it, but that's your decision.

I get all of my finds evaluated by a local jeweler. She does it for free, and then she gets right of first refusal. So far, I'm ahead by a few dollars.

If you want to keep it & give it to someone, check to see if it is her size. If not, it needs to be resized anyway, & that can possible be done in the area where the band is already cracked. Then polish it up.

I posted in the past about getting the max for my finds.I set up a table at a corner that always has folks selling stuff.I sold off a bunch of jewelry..even costume.I let folks make an offer and found I was getting 10-15 bucks for 925ers no nicer than that.melt on that ring is prolly 3 bucks at best.
