I saw the same guy a few years back in Minnesota coming down a trail at me when I was doing pipeline survey. My only face to face with a trespasser, no relic hunters of that type here in se Kansas.

You need to train him to follow behind you when you are detecting, and fill in your holes and scare off any trouble makers. And put a backpack on him with spare batteries, sandwiches (enough for you and him) and some cold sodas packed in ice.
