anyone ever hunted?

Hey guys has anyone ever hit any hardwood ridges well away from anything, no old house places or anything?

Last turkey season I was running and gunning on a parcel of select cut timber when I walked up on a 1943silver quarter on the ground I'd never thought about detecting these kinds of spots but I may hit it in a few days. I know there are no house places around bit I know people have hunted these hills for years. I'd like to find a brass shotgun shell as well.

I agree with cti4sw. anywhere where people have been, people are bound to drop things.

You can pretty much guarantee one or two people have been EVERYWHERE..... My father had a ring returned from a guy with a metal detector in the middle of the woods several years ago..... My dad's high school ring lost a decade or two, he lost it when he was caving at nearby caves.... So you really never know !!

I have a friend that has a friend that hits uninhabited mountain tops all over New England
and he has done very well on some - we have cellar holes all over - but many people dont realize back in the 1600's and early 1700's
most early settlers just laid down logs - so he finds many mountain tops that you have to look real hard and you can find
the depressions of those early log cabins - (usually best time is when there is still a little snow on the ground)
I know a few years back he found some flowing hair dollars on a mt top and i know this year he got a beautiful british breast plate
on one - my friend has said his friend has gotten other nice finds too hiking to the tops of Mts.
this guy does not post on forums - my friend has seen the items and i have seen pics though
