I found #14 for my hoop earring collection. This is another HUGE one! It looks like a basketball hoop! I thought when I first saw it that it was the mate to the one I found a while back. Same type of catch but no when I put them side by side one is just a tad smaller but not by much! It isn't gold either just a cheapo. So far none of the earrings I've found have been gold.
Well, all was not lost I found 2 quarters in the dry sand before I got into the water along with 3 of the bottle caps. The other 4 quarters I found all together in one little area IN the water and the rest of the stuff was found IN the water.
It was not the pretty day out that it has been the last few times out. It even sprinkled a little while I was in the water but I didn't see any lightening or hear any thunder. I figured I was wet anyway so what was a little rain?
I met Jpotter while I was there and a little later met up with Cavedweller. Both were just starting to hunt. I hope they did better than I did. All in all I actually found targets so I figure it was a very good day. I still missed 3 but I'm getting better! I'll take the $1.54 in clad and the hoop for my collection!
Tomorrow is a new day!
Also I have a question: I was about waist deep but with the waves coming in I was sometimes up to my neck. I was constantly being knocked away from the target. How do you guys manage to stay in one place while digging a target or do you? Weight belts? I am not a little girl but I had a heck of a time trying to stay in one place.
