I Believe it was Late 60's /Early 70's last Time I saw it.
in my Teens

I saw it on TV as a kid. It really blew me away as a youngster. Thanks for the dive down memory lane.

how about the diving bell :tongue3:

stand in line for an hour while they stirred things up

then go down 22 feet and see cloudy water :laughing7:

most likely only the first divers saw out the windows :tongue3:

Our Family Vacation was to Atlantic City Each Summer.
60's through early 70's

One of the Things We/I Did was hit the Steel Pier & see all the shows.

Water show, movies (saw Vanishing Point there for the first time), Ed Hurst, Dick Clark, the Groups Etc.

pay to get on the pier and the shows were included

Very cool vacation memories Jeff. I wonder where that Bell is now?

found it.
The original Diving Bell was lost at sea and has never been found
Steel Pier's fondly-remembered Diving Bell attraction now sits outside the entrance to the Atlantic City Aquarium at Historic Gardner's Basin.

For WHOM the BELL TOLLS ???

Hi, So thats your idea of a sea horse looks like . What a sheltered childhood TP

My family used to rent a cottage at Ocean City, NJ (about five miles sough of Atlantic City) for weeks in the summer through the 60's and early 70's. Knew of the diving horse but never went to see it.

I can remember if we got up early there were rental bicycles (early rate was lower) and my brother and I would bicycle up to the Steel Pier.

Very cool that you located the diving bell Jeff. I’d say Banner Find! Lol!

LOL I Tried to Find it on Google Street View,
But no Luck. They didn't travel the Sidewalks.
The Bell I found was a Ringer :(

I saw the diving horse as a kid in Atlantic City`s Steel Pier, but it was a white horse.

I Honestly don't remember the color of the One I saw.
the 70's erased allot of my memory.

I do get it back in Sparks at times.
but rarely is it 100% trustworthy.

For instance Tony Grant's Stars of Tomorrow
was also on the Pier.
I think one of the acts was either the Osmond's or Jackson 5 :tongue3:
But I could be completely Mistaken. & it may have just been a Fly by Night Nobody Family.

Hey I remember the white horse too.And I could never beat that chicken at Tic Tac Toe.

I remember the diving horse. I also remember seeing some old singers there like Bobby Daren, only one I can think of right off.

Thank you for sharing! :occasion14:

Saw the horse diving and was not impressed, don't think the horse really cared for it either, the billboards were more exciting than the real thing. Did see many musical groups there in the mid 60s.

I Don't think it looked as High as they Say it was.

Don't & Didn't really care what the Horse Thought.
If anything other then When is it's next meal :tongue3:
