Recently found this in my Grandparents house; I know absolutely nothing about these. My questions are were the backs painted and were they this glossy? When I first saw it I immediately thought that some type of spray enamel was applied. Any thoughts are welcomed.

That looks like a pretty nice one. I have a big pile of plates and like to find and trade around.
I payed $100 for a single 1929 plate for my ford with my county number, and it’s rusty. I’m trying to get the same number now that is current. More cash but it is what I want. I know several that have payed $500 for the ones that have correct year and correct county number.
I’m not sure if they were dipped or how painted, they use to make them at the state pen is about all I know.
