Anyone Know What this is?

I found it while house hunting yesterday. It's brass and about 3 1/8" long. It also has BY2752 stamped into it.

Any ideas?

Heavy machine part, looks like a locking pin. But not sure what it locked? The patent number is searchable?

I agree looks like a part to heavy machinery, possibly agricultural equipment. Depends on where you found it . Monty

It was found on a 1940's era home site near Lawrenceville, GA. Don't think the number is a patent # as it looks too short. Would think it might be a PN for the item? Tried a Google search on the number but nothing.

Probably a parts number and you'd have to know what it went to to run it down. Monty
