Interesting. Is that protruding stem/bore part hollow? If so, perhaps it's a figural inkwell!

Maybe he is thinking about why he sat on the toilet backwards!!! Lol. Interesting. Jgas.

shot measure . it had a cork that fit in a whisky bottle .they made them out of plastic and metal .

Ok that sounds like a good one but the part he's facing isn't hollow..but It could be a whiskey stopper..thanks it looks pretty old to me I found it at an old plantation site

[flashyace]

Looks like an honest Abe pipe

In your pictures it looks a little translucent near the top of the stem part, as if there's a very shallow cup or rest in there. Not hollow all the way through, but just a bit near the top. If that's the case, maybe it's for a small candle to sit in? Like a tiny personal finger lamp for getting to the outhouse in the middle of the night. 'Just a guess, very curious to know for sure though. It's an interesting piece!

[NJKLAGT]

Haha, maybe not. I'm having trouble imagining what the rest of it would look like! Awesome piece of milkglass though, gotta love that, looks old too.

Looks like a heart tube just find the body now lol

[Holyground]

Yes. It's me when I drank a lot.

[Diggindennis]

I think that is a great guess and you may right there's definitely some of it missing I will probably never find the rest because they farm the field I found it in. I was lucky to find it as is. Thanks for taking time to check it out and giving me your input

It is part of an Uncle Sam Battleship covered dish, circa 1880.

The site I posted a link to above lists it as 1880's manufacture.
To be more accurate it is known as "Uncle Sam on the Merrimac" produced around the time of the Spanish American war by the Flaccus co. in West Virginia. Around 1898 would be a more accurate time period.
