Anyone rock hounding in Maryland or Northern Virginia?

Just wondering if anyone on here is doing any rock hounding in the Southern Maryland or Northern Virginia area. By rock hounding I'm talking quality beryl, amethyst, smoky quartz and such.

Let me know, I don't mind getting dirty and would love to find a like minded digging partner.

I used to live up that way; closer to the P.A. line though.

I would suggest looking in some areas of Spotsylvania Co., Virginia. There is a lot of cool minerals up in that general region. I'd look through Mindat.org and see what occurrences are where.
