I doubt you will regret the Legend Cx. It is my second GPS, and I have great luck with it.
I would love an HCX too, but was too expensive when I got mine.
BTW, I like to buy my maps on CD or DVD, and use them on the laptop. You can get plenty of micro SDs on Ebay, and they often have a little carrier that is exactly the same size as a regular SD, and it fits in your card reader. You can put maps on and off the sd right to the computer, without even plugging in the gps.
