Aqua Scan - Aquapulse Detector

Its a 1980's design by Eric Foster in the U.K. developed for Police use. Eventually the design got past on to Aquascan in South Wales.
I don't know about the latest model but the drawback with using a diving/wreck detector is that you have to run it at a high uS setting to compensate for the water depth. I think 30uS was being used. To have sensitivity to small gold you need a low uS setting say 10-15. As the machine is not that sensitive to a small ring then its not going to perform on flakes or even small nuggetts.

Ok cheers many thanks for the interesting info, i primarily bought it for a local shipwreck known to have gone down with about £340,000 of gold coins, but there is also several disused gold mines not to far away, what would you recomend in your opinion for those, say for checking flakes, nuggets etc.

Cheers
Tim
