Just need opinions. But I feel like I have found old mine or pipeline or sink hole. Or could these be topaz or quartz. I feel like there unpolished raw natural diamonds. Any opinion or advice is appreciated. This has just been a pile I been keeping to side cause they caught my attention, this is all I have found in the last 4 years. I understand the likelihood of them being real is probably just wishful thinking. I don't really go out looking for diamonds but they just happened to catch my eye... and all was found in about a half mile area.

Looks like mostly quartz, where were they found ? any history of diamonds in that area ? Here in Western North Carolina there is history of Diamonds & gold being found in same area but not coal. Can't speak for other areas.

Found in ky. Side of the ohio river. The only thing I know is that there have been 32 diamonds found in Indiana. And so there's possibilities.

There is only one that comes even close to resembling a raw diamond. the clear one with the textured surface. But even that looks quite off for many reasons. The easiest way to find out for sure is to stop by a jewelers and have them test it. most places will do it for free as it is simple and fast to test. I suspect it is probably quartz though.

That is what I plan to do next. Just wanted to get opinions so that I could feel more knowledgeable about them and didn't want to get laughed at walking in. So sofar I am assuming there quartz. And there beautiful weather there worth $1 - $10000. Thank you for the time you took to reply.

So you can narrow it down at home by looking at several things. Many say size is the first thing you look at as the majority of diamonds found measure under 8mm. for visual cues one typical trait is that the crystal form usually 4sides, quartz usually has more of hexagonal structure(6 sides). diamonds also have a certain look to them that is described as "looking like it is covered in vasoline". When diamonds break they break smooth, where as quartz breaks with conchoidal fractures. The scratch test won't do you much good as the only thing hard enough to test a diamond is corundum, which I doubt you just have laying around. There is some more stuff for certain types of diamonds but by the time you get into it all it really is just easier to take it to get tested on a good quality diamond tester.

If they're large enough, you can do a Specific Gravity test. Diamonds are roughly 3.5, and quartz about 2.5.
