3456.JPG Seems mineralized by sulphides (meaning ore minerals that contain Sulphur)

But it also looks like Mica schist as the host rock?
That would suggest metamorphic actions. Some pics do slightly resemble Pegmatite.
Be on the watch out for crystals to!! :coffee2:

Check the area for other rusty rocks. Get them checked out, some gold can not be seen with the naked eye.
Assay them, that is. :)

The first and 2nd pictures with the white quartz look somewhat promising. The others look like mostly schist, and feldspar to me, which I doubt either would be gold bearing.

Yes they look like pegmatite, (Quartz, Feldspar and Mica in this case) which also can be created hydrothermally. :read2:

ooookkkkkk Bulgaria looks alot like california......if gold has been found in the area well..... you will find more.so the Mariposa formation wich is what the Motherlode in california is is a series of lodes, veins intrusions that filled fissures in metamorphic rock.... meaning you will find quartz veins sandwiched between schist, slate, greenstone, serpentine.....black..white...black...Ma natures awesome oreo cookie and oh do you wanna pay attention to the cream in the middle.....where did the nugget come from? Quartz with any mineraliztion especially pyrite is a very good thing...yes look for rusty quarts....but, especially look for rust and mineraliztion at the contact zones where the quarts and metamorphic rock touch...if your in a gold bearing area id say with certainty within feet of where your pics were taken all those rough spots, quartz veins, etc have gold in them its just microscopic. if its in sulfides you will have to process tons to even see an ounce......if its free milling gold you could find it in placer form in that rough crazy bedrock.........look up the local mining history and try to find some geology reports good luck.

alright... i reread your finding color...did you find the nugget? if so you are doing just fine if you dont know what sniping is and if your not focussing on "oh my god look at all those cracks in the bedrock" :o you need to do so and get ready to need more batteries for your scale.......oh my god look at all those cracks.... :notworthy:

If you found the gold nugget there look closely at the nugget, if it has "host rock" still attached to it that will answer your question as to which rocks has the gold, I guessing it is the quartz from the size of the nugget, and as mentioned the gold would be in the "contact" zones where the quartz and country rock come together.

Also as mentioned START CLEANING OUT ALL THE CRACKS IN THAT STREAM IN THAT AREA, break them opened and clean out all the sediment and pan it, run it through a sluice, but do it now, there is MORE gold to be FOUND!!! :headbang: :headbang:

Don't forget to post pictures of all the gold you find!!! :icon_sunny: :icon_sunny:
