Are we getting {SOFT} ? #1

I hate to think of all the bad things that would happen if society collapsed but I think I would be able to survive and take care of my family. People are very resiliant and most of us would band together and help each other out as much as possible. There will always be people that try to loot and steal for survival but I think they would run into too many groups like these, I don't think they would last too long.

You would be surprised at how fast people would learn to adapt if all modern technology went down. Sure it would be chaos at first but it's human nature to adapt especially when it means adapt or die.

I am with you guys on this, people will adapt pretty quickly and band together for the most part. There is some truth to safety in numbers. Marauding bands/gangs would disperse once all the large stores are fully looted, then then is no sense in trying to sustain a small army on nothing, besides they would be turning on themselves in no time flat.. As far as being a crack shot at 100 yards, nice going. I would hate to mention that people unlike cans tend to move and perhaps shoot back.

Right now, I'm more concerned if any of that oil from the spill will find its way into out food chain. That surely gives a new meaning to eating blackened fish :tongue3:

Man do they still make Lifeboy soap?? :laughing7:

Heck, I didn't catch that one. I just did a google on lifebuoy soap and see that you can only get it in specialty shops now, that specialize in products from the UK... Wow, talk about being soft :laughing9:

Popular for over 100 years, the light red soap is still available in the United States, in specialty shops that import it through Jupiter Imports (UK) from England www.lifebuoy.co.uk Though Lifebuoy has ceased to be produced in the U.S. and the UK, it is still being mass produced by Unilever in Cyprus (for the UK, EU and USA). All other countries have adopted the ‘global’ brand of the Red Lifebuoy Soap (and in other colours) with ‘modern’ aromas. Only Unilever in Cyprus is manufacturing the original Red Lifebuoy Soap with “Carbolic” In India, the modern global versions are the main value brands there as well as in some other South Asian and South East Asian countries like Malaysia, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Indones

Yeah I realize no matter how well armed I am and how good I can shoot eventually in a time of chaos I will be overrun. You can only kill so many before someone gets a lucky shot off at you. Sure some of us may take out dozens, hundreds, maybe thousands but even the best armed household can only hold out for so long when those willing to cheat and steal know there is prizes to be taken from them in a life or death scenario. Anyone can hunt and farm crops when need be but I doubt game reserves would last long considering most American households have guns there will be millions of new hunters shooting anything in the forest that move. It reminds me of the one old Twilight Zone when the family builds a bomb shelter in the basement and when the rest of the block finds out in light of a nuclear war they swarm to the home. I for one would not be farming any crops out in the open when the world collapses, it is the same as putting a bulls eye on your back. I think in a case like this it would be best to stay mobile. Many people have the concept that "heading to the hills" is the best solution but you will share this same idea with about 200 million other Americans so don't expect that lone mountain in Virginia to be vacant anymore. In the end if the world does go down we will all have short lives, even the "survivalist".
