Your best bet is to join some of the Arizona prospector sites and ask those guys there's a bunch of them on the web, good luck

most of southern arizona is state or federal land...not many restrictions on camping, unless there is a fire warning...then you can camp, but only have an enclosed fire.

arivaca is an old gold producer, ash canyon is a wonder, prospects everywhere. over by gleason is flour gold...but then you get close to the patents owned by the large copper companies...phelps dodge is a mite fussie about removing their ore.

I'm down in Quartzite, there's a club here with claims for MDing and drywashing. Lotsof private claims, many will invite you to use them if your clean about stuff.
