Please help me decide if this armoire is an actual antique or remake? It seems to be very old and I saw today the lock says “eagle lock company Terryville, conn”

Looks old to me but then again, I'm no expert on antique furniture

Hi,

antique is ill defined. From the style I would say 1920ish to 1940ish, though style periods may be different from country to country. I also think I see a phillips head screw above the lock, those just came up in these periods.

If you believe it to be older: how is it joined? Just bud&dowel, or anything more sophisticated as e.g. dovetail?

I can't say for sure how long that particular Eagle Lock logo was in use but it looks pretty modern. I'd guess post WWII. It was definitely being used in 1954.
