I found this arrowhead a number of years ago on my property. Any info from arrowhead experts as to type, etc.?
BTW, the color darkened as I was looking at it and it became dark flint colored in a matter of minutes. It had been buried when I pushed it up with my tractor.

Texas. Southeast Texas to be more specific.

That is a worn out Godley. No doubt in my mind. Size and shape are a match.

If that was found in IL I’d call it a Thebes, no doubt. In the SE, the Bolen bevel is from a similar time period and has a similar look. The TX Godley looks a bit similar but I’m not seeing any Godley’s with beveled edges. It has all the traits of an early archaic point, whatever it is. SE TX has a lot of petrified wood. The grain in this point looks like it could be pet wood.

Looks like petrified palm wood, it should have dots on the end of the grain if it is. Nice to see a local find.

Found at Dallardsville in Polk County. North of Beaumont about 60ish miles.

I thought I might as well add to this thread instead of creating a new one. Found this small projectile back in 2020 on Vashon Island, WA (PNW) while spreading dirt which had been excavated from our foundation. Our house is being built near the center of the island in a densely forested area so probably from hunting. Any info on what rock or what range of years this could be from?

Looked like Thebes to me, but most of my hunting experience is Missouri, and western Ill.

PNW and TX have so many true arrow points it’s hard to keep them straight. Your point has an impact fracture. It hit something before it was lost! It might be a Gunther barbed but it’s way out of my area so just a wild guess. There is no flint to speak of in the PNW. All the materials there are volcanic in origin. Agate and Jasper predominate, and of course obsidian. Your point looks like agate to me. You should always start a new thread for better exposure.

Nice one with a ding in it for sure. Vashon Island is gorgeous, when I was an army brat my friend’s dad was stationed in Tacoma a few years ago and I went to visit. We took a ferry to the island, it was a lot of fun. They went back there in November and would be nice to visit again.
