Hi all,
My best freind and huntin buddy had his house broke into and the theives made off with every artifact he had found in the last 30 years.Man that makes me so sick. This is the same guy who lived on the logging site where I found all the hardstone last year.I,d have to kill a man if I caught them.He had no insurance on them either. I,m going to keep my ear to the ground and hope I can find them.I,ve been nervous about my stuff since.

yes, pics please, we will be on the sharp lookout >:( >:(

Dude, that's just sad. Keep an eye out at the local pawn shops. Did he have his stuff photographed? Ya know, the more I sit here and think about it, the more upset I get. If he has any pictures of his frames see if you can get them posted, I'll forward them to another board that I'm on. Maybe with enough eyes if this guy tries to auction them off on ebay we can catch him... maybe get him hung by his nads... if he has any. Keep us informed, Razor

I have had my collection stolen at my house twice now. The last time was around 7-8 years ago? They got off with a couple dozen of my best cases. One case had over 60 daltons in it, etc. It crushed me, both times. The worst part is that in both instances, it had to have been someone who was previously in my house - someone who knew me very well. They knew exactly where the best relics were and only took them (they weren't with the rest of the collection). None have been recovered. We no longer invite anyone over to our home, even our friends. It's a shame that it has to be this way and it totally changed our lives. It's an overwhelming experience and I don't wish it on anyone. I despise thieves and do believe that we all reap what we sow.

Thanks so much to everyones posts, thoughts and advice. We have not found anything yet but there are at least three suspects.Yes Matt These guys seemed to be freinds,co-workers.Myfreind had been laid-off since October about 60 miles from home.It looks really obvious. The other didnot get callrd back to work. His first day back to work he got hit.He lives in the country,no neighbors and left for work at 4 a.m.The house was not ransacked. They knew exactly where he hid them.I was ripped off of some nice frames and axeheads among other things many years ago and it changed me too Matt.I found out it was my own brother 10 years later and recovered just a few from a guy who said he had bought them from my little broyher years ago. My motto is now DTA DON,Y TRUST ANYONE.One of his chainsaws has been found,I,ll keep you all posted on any thing new
Thanks so much,
Jeff

Man that sucks big time. Same thing happened to a friend of mine several years ago while he and his wife were on vacation. It turned out to be their druggie son and one of his friends. Good luck to your friend on finding any of his stuff.

I think Jim will see this as I do, I have a crow spirit so I cannot rely on training or experience. My spirit only pointed out 3 or 4 thieves.

Any of the three or four are very close to the man that the things were taken from.

One or two are destitute, out of money, with bills. May not get rid of the items, fear
they may be caught. Unless a hustler finds out they have the relics, He will get them cheap.

A hustler that already has a market for the items. This will be the hardest to catch.

A crack head that will play it loose and do stupid things. He will make mistakes.

Start with who was there last before the objects were missing, next to last and so on.

ohioriver hunter this type of thing happened to an elderly lady whom I once worked for as her yardman.

She kept a large number of old coins in a gallon jar in her kitchen.

The coins hard been handed down through her family over some 300 years. Many were gold.

She used to show them to friends and talked about them at the country club.

One winter when she was in Florida, a thief removed a square piece of glass with suction cups, cut through the window bars, and entered her house without leaving a single fingerprint anywhere or footprint in the flowerbed outside the window. The only thing he took was the coins.

She had a house full of valuable paintings, jewelry, etc., but he only wanted those coins.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to tell too much.

This happened some 45 years ago and to this day the case has not been solved.

I'd suggest you join the AACA, they have a special forum and procedures for artifact thefts. I'd also post it on all the artifact forums, if he had any pics at all. Many of them have artifact theft announcements and areas of discussion. Makes me sick. I have a safe. I've been hit, too, but they didn't get my stuff, just some money and camera laying around, etc.
