All Treasure Hunting
Hi I'm new to this treasure hunting and would love to know if what I think I'm finding is legit or not. These are all from our farm in NW Georgia. The longer ones on the bottom row I seem to find a lot of these and wondered what they are used for. Then the one by the fork also not sure if this is legit - seems to have been worked if you zoom in. Any feel for age on these? Thanks

Nice finds, excellent rose quartz point. The 2nd pic (under the group picture) looks like a Big Sandy, the next one on right maybe a Taylor. The one to the right of the rose quartz and the one below it could be Pickwicks. The one to the left below the quartz I don't know. The piece with the fork could be a waste shard, I can't see work detail in the picture. All the others appear to be blades and/ or scraper like tools.

Proverb: "Everybody LOOKS. What you've got to do is learn to SEE."

Those two points tell you something significant about the (early) Archaic (they date from the very beginning of it). It's really obvious once you SEE it. But do you ?

Part credit for noticing that they're serrated. In the Paleo era, you only find that on some Cumberland points, so that in itself shows you an important, distinguishing difference (like the hafting notches) between Paleo/Early Archaic. But this is something else.

Anybody SEE it ? Once you do, you'll kick yourself for having missed it.
Ok, I've been reading more since you sent out this cryptic message, lol. My guess is that it has something to do with the serration and shows they were done after the point was made. Am I right?

I also saw pictures of other early archaic points and I think I have quite a few from that era. Look at these 2. What do you think?
