Article posted on Google not favorable to collectors.

I know chase. We are both moderators on another forum. I'm pretty sure he hasn't seen your reply or he would reply. However, just want to say chase did not make the claims you think he meant. Honestly, not wanting to start anything with you or anyone else, but I did not read his comments the way you did at all. I really don't know why you think this, but believe me, it's a mistake on your part. chase is not leveling any accusations at you.

I didn't either

I read both articles when published and felt they were not even news worthy. They were written for sensationalism and the author tried to group a whole hobby by the actions of a few. I purposely did not share it for this very reason.

Jon, reading chase's comment again, it is absolutely clear to me that he was talking about the comments AND THE IMPLICATIONS AND FALSE ASSOCIATIONS made in the article, and probably the other article as well, which wasn't posted on TNet but which also connects ah.com members with illegalities for no justifiable reasons, and not your short comment at all. He absolutely did not imply what you think he implied, Jon. Not at all......

chase wrote: "The fact that we have little regard for what that past holds. we do this for greed or for drugs! I find that as a racist remark, against artifact collectors."

The above statement is where you went wrong, Jon. Yes, chase did misuse the term "racism"; it isn't really racism, but a form of discrimination against collectors. And it's an untrue association and accusation for 99.999% of us! However, he isn't talking about your comment at all; he's talking about the 2 articles recently penned which connect collectors with illicit drugs and illicit digging. You took the statement personal when in fact the statement had nothing to do with you at all. You never said we do this for drugs, the articles did!
Charlie Thank you!!
Jon, There was no intent on my part what so ever to your post or comments My comments were saying that you will not stop drugs as you will not stop the sale of artifacts, both have a demand for them, and weather I choose not to participate in the use of drugs or the sale of artifacts., the fact remains that this will occur. That statement was based on the association of to recent articles, both combining the drug use and artifact collecting and selling for drug use. My comment concerning racism which maybe misused (definition) Racism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is based on a group (us artifact collectors) and others that feel that WE are inferior and labeled as crazed drug users that hunt artifacts to support our drug habit. I used this term on the basis that one group feels superior. If you took this as a personal attack I apologize. If there needs to be someone leaving this forum, I would rather you stay. Participating members are valued, and from what I have read of your posts, you are that member. These types of articles that have been written and presented to the internet, however a fringe website, do get read. I for one find this unacceptable journalism, and I take this as a personal attack towards all artifact collectors. IMO the collectors of the past century have done more to further the understanding of the peopling and what we know of the Americas, than would have ever been possible, yet we are the very group that is being singled out to be persecuted. A modern day witch hunt. If we become silent and do not stand up, then we will see this hobby as one done by outlaws, because in order to collect them will be against the law. We are one group of artifact collectors, however divided up in forums, facebook or artifact shows and society's..

sorry for the ramble. I am on this forum as a member, to learn, to share my experiences, But you will always get my honest thoughts on how I feel. These are my thoughts.
Thank you for reading!
