It's a clay figure. I think it's a modern decorative piece. Maybe from Africa and it could be South or Central America. ???

My first thought is South America. Being hollow makes me think more modern --- vintage ??? --- rather than ancient. That said, if you have three dollars to go with my idea, you could
get a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Just because an Archaeologist has not returned your message means next to nothing. In fact, I wouldn't expect an answer either. It does not look old at all, but then again you have told us nothing about where you found this. It does have a bearing on what we can sort out. If you found it in a cave in South America, it would be different than if you found it at a garage sale.Looks like a modern art piece but you could take it to a local museum if you wish to have someone there see it in person, that is ,if there is one there who knows anything about the type of artifact it represents. My guess...
Peruvian.
old or not...
unsure... must take macro pics of base... and surface shots... multiple clear ones.
Surface is the most important part.
Copies and new "figures" have been made for centuries... to this very day...
Someone in Peru right now is making up a batch of tourist trade dolls/figures for next weeks market.
The surface does not lie.
they try... but it cannot escape a keen eye.

All I know is that she said she thinks it was found off the coast of Poroireco by drivers and than acquired by a rich private collect who had a large collect of simulator objects, the private collector died and the collection broken up where the now owners late husband acquired it. That's really all I know. She did say two local university archies told her it was authentic but to me my guts telling me it almost too prefect. I have two object that came with the this one I guess I can post if you guys think it will help, not sure if they were found by drivers too or just part of the drug dealers private collection. Please I really need some help on this! The lady is now really hurting for money. oh she said she been sitting on them for 20 years btw.
