Artillery button?

Foudn this button at an old farm site that has yielded many colonial coppers, as well a Mass. Copper....there is a scripted A on the front of it, kinda hard to see in the pic. No back mark on it that I can see. Looks like an old artillery button, but what what time frame? Thanks!

Can't see any detail in the photo, but from your description it sounds as if it might be an early 1800's artillery regiment button.

Anything similar to this one?

PBK...yeah I couldn;t get a good clear pic of it, its in kinda rough shape but in person the A is clearly visible....the one you posted is definitely it...thanks again!!
