Found this last week where a parsonage was in the early 1800s right along the Main St through town. The town was settled in 1788. Only detail I can make out is the ring along the edge which matches up with a cartwheel. It rang up same as a large cent so I'm guessing it copper (it's not magnetic). Whatever it is it weighs 24.2g, 41.1mm diameter, and 2.1mm thick. No clue what it could be if it's copper and not a cartwheel that was maybe started as a love token or a counterfeit Cartwheel.

I see some sort of faded mark in the center on the side with the bad gouge but cannot make out what it is.

One penny weighed 28.35g and was 36mm and 3mm thick
2 pence was 56.7g and was 41mm and 5mm thick

Wide rim but it's got the size of one and the weight of the other (taking in the consideration for wear)
Medallion/token?

A different one for sure, neat recovery for sure. Congrats

I'm thinking it's a horse halter rosette, it looks similar to a 'RIKER' rosette I found a few weeks ago. :icon_scratch:

I also think I can see some letters here... but maybe I'm not quite awake yet either. :laughing7:
