Well.. it appears that if you want a affordable machine that is waterproof and wireless; it will be Garrett.

I would buy it for the wireless and waterproof options.. if it is deeper than the atpro that will certainly be a plus.

Time will tell.

Also.. I wonder if the wireless headphones can be used in the rain or rainy conditions?

Here I thought they would have something more impressive.

My son however wants one and has already emailed dealers here in Europe, I told him to wait until we get back to the States because here they will only sell the Max I. He said he does not care and is getting one now if he can find one.

Daughter on the other hand is not very pleased at all, she is still on her first machine the AT Gold; she said she is going to look further into Minelabs now. Such a sweet girl, I may just have to buy which ever Minelab she picks out.

I think its sounds great. Between the three AT choices I'd buy the Gold again though, I just like everything about it so far. I'm sure the Max will do very well with the new features, good job Garrett

I like the back light and the wifi. I really want to see how it works on the California beaches. My AT Pro is unusable on wet sand here.
If it really works on the wet sand I'll buy one and give my AT Pro to my son.
