Hi Benjy,
They are both good units, depending on the type of targets you desire. The AT Gold can find sub gram gold , coins , relics jewelry on land or in freshwater. The At Pro is good for coins, relics and jewelry in fresh and saltwater. If you tend to hold prospect, the AT Gold is more tuned to small gold. If you plan to hunt saltwater, the AT Pro is a better choice .
