Detector(s) used
Whites MXT 950/ 6" excelerator- MXT PRO 6x10 & 12"- Vaquero\ stock and 6" coil ''
I currently use a MXT PRO and I wonder how the AT PRO compares. I coin hunt and some of the features of the PRO appeal to me. I am very please with my Whites, does the Garrett perform as well . How about customer service and the quality of the PRO. Twenty years ago I had a AT4 from Garrrett and I liked it, but it seemed that I had to send it in many times forrepairs. Since then has the quality improved.
How well does it do in mild soil, depth and discrimination. Also any recommendations on coils for the Pro.
I would appreciate any input before I decide on the purchase of a PRO.
Thanks

I had an early version of the AT Pro and its gone back 3 times. A friend gave me a new ATP and it is nothing like the other. Still with experience with the MXT it is a better detector and a lot of others, they are better. ATP they say is water proof to 10 foot, mine leaked at one foot while wading. But I have real water detectors that I dive with but of course they cost more. For the price the ATP is great for what you get and Garrett's customer service is very good. The MXT is a real killer with a sniper coil and I would stick with that and White's customer service is second only to Tesoro.

Thanks Sandman,
It's good to talk to someone that knows detectors. I often fall into the trap of the latest and greatest and it is always a good idea to get someone Else's opinion. Detectors have made tremendous advances since I started (1972) and I enjoy the hobby as much now as when I started.
Thank You and happy digging
