Mack--

Nice Idaho token! Elmer Oliver Torgerson (1884-1919) and John J. Kaaen (1884-1913) were partners in the O. K. Grill which included the Torgerson & Kaaen pool room in Elk River ca. 1911-1912. Torgerson operated it by himself for several years both prior to and after his partnership with Kaaen. It was located opposite the railroad depot in Elk River and they advertised as having "the coziest loaf in town". After selling his business, Torgerson was working hauling water to a crew clearing the right of way along the Elk River highway when a tree fell on him as he was standing in his wagon, killing him instantly. He is buried in the Moscow, ID Cemetery. I have not yet found what happened to Kaaen, but he is buried in the Palouse, WA Cemetery.

The token is fairly common among Idaho token collectors.
