I can't help you but they are very interesting.

Where are you located, Dirtygirl? That's a start. I am only an amateur but that first piece could maybe be an atlatl spur...? The only thing similar to what you found is in this other forum- the first post has an attachment, check it out: Atlatl

Now, boat stones, to my understanding are basically atlatl weights, so the contour of the in-carving needs to match the handle to which it would be lashed. So my first thoughts are that a) it's too rough-looking compared to what I tend to see on line like these: Boatstones and b) there's a squared-off end and a round end. Maybe it's something to crush pigment in.

Hopefully someone will come in and correct me if I'm wrong, and enlighten us both! Yakker

Does the curved thing have a face effigy?? It sure looks like it from picture # 2 of 6. Wow.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Cool finds! What state are you in?? Also, are these recent finds? Nice! Thanks for sharing with us!

No no no- don't delete! We/I really want to know about these things- and where you're located so we can be better help. Did you figure out what that first object was?

I think the first object is a handle to a crockery type of pot or water pitcher. Still old just not native old. I like it

Maybe so, maybe so. But most crockery handles I find (I seem to find a lot) are broader and *glazed*. It does look to be more modern than pre-historic, but at the same time, I can't really put my finger on that shape- hence the atlatl 'hook' guess. Just SWAG, but hey. Wish she'd come back... Yak

Sorry if you thought I (we) was asking your location for my own benefit. How can anyone help you if no basic information about the piece is given? If these pieces were found in Estambul, someone may be able to direct you toward answers. If the pieces were found in one of the 50 states, someone here can help you. Location of a find means sooo much. You do not have to give anyone an X on a map. On second thought, since the word burial was brought up.... Delete may be a wise option.

Good point NC. This makes it twice now that DG has posted something and deleted. The first was a shipwreck item...
