Atocha coin

Hello

I have a Atocha coin which I have had for many years, and I’m wondering if it is genuine and what the value may be. It’s in an 18 karat gold, heavy bezel, with a anchor on the bail any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If it's real and from the Atocha, you'll need a Cert.of Authenticity to prove it.

The toning/lighting is off.

To get the CoA (if one exists), you'd have to backtrack to (perhaps) the original source.
I believe each Atocha CoA contains a pic of the coin.
Be aware that Atocha replicas (repos) proliferate the market.

Have you compared your coin with others offered for sale on the Internets? These coins are unique - if two are identical, they are copies.

And if from Atocha will have either a "ATC" ... OR.... "TSI" mark.
Its very hard for me to see in the bezel to see if marked.

Also....
The deference between the ATC and TSI mark indicates if it was a remake from bars OR a find.

IMO this is a find and it could have been from anyone anywhere who found a real coin and had it bezeled... remember many of these have floated all over the world... not just on ships.
