Went to a local little park for an hour before work and figured, aaah probably wont get a lot outside of some deeper change that the 350 didn't catch. Hit the edges of the grass area and hit the more lush areas of grass. Figured more people would be laying in the softer grass.
In the beginning of my first pass I picked up a couple of dimes and a penny at about 6". Towards the middle of the pass I hit some pulltabs and the infernal can slag but thought to myself "This is a good thing. I'm getting closer to where people hung out and left their trash." At the end of the pass I got a nice solid 48 on the VDI at 8". It was a good repeatable signal from all directions. I dug a pretty nice size plug and stuck in my pinpointer. At 6" it was still deeper. Pulled another inch of dirt and had the sifnal in my hand. As I cracked the dirt lump open I was expecting to find a piece of can slag but low and behold, out rolled this 14K diamond ring. (I'm thinking the dog walker walking by thought I was crazy when I did my happy dance...)
Now I just need to get it cleaned and valued but guessing about half a carat.
