Jennifer I agree with your response !All of these get-rich-quick shows ADD to the thrill to keep people watching the shows . Some people even admit to it and refuse to be part of it , even brothers split their decision of the shows intent because of it! I still watch it for the entertainment for what it's worth ! BUT I agree with you on your statement !

Glad to see people held accountable.
I have had 3 talent contracts myself and several ex employees and friends have been in shows from Weather Channel to Nat Geo. All have some added drama but some were heinous in the scripted drama. Actually had my fish featured on a show I wasn't even on because the areas they fished were either barren or the captains sucked so they bought some from the market. The pay was garbage.

Glorified infomercials.
Product placement is probably close to 100 years old by now.
I don't doubt the entertainment aspect but WWE is more real than a lot of " reality shows " and the cast are better looking and better actors.
