I Recently metal detected a house that was built in 1880. I found a 1944 quarter, an 1889 IH, 1902 IH, 1904 IH, a 193? Buffalo Nickel, and about 17 Wheat pennies all in the front yard! I never found an Indian Head or Buffalo Nickel prior to this hunt. I also found an old Yale Junior padlock, a NYS dog tag from 1950, and a Jesus souvenir pin. The owner told me that when he was a kid, him and his friends use to hang out at the house and they buried a Time Capsule in the backyard. This would be back in the 1940s. He didn't remember if the container or any of the contents were metal, but he thought it would be cool if I could find it. Anybody have any tips on trying to find it? He said it was Probably buried close to a foot in the ground.
