Awesome old pipe found on beach

I found this and thought it was cool! It’s started cracking since being inside... how can I preserve?!

i don't think there is any great age to that pipe. Dad always smoked a wooden pipe (and corncob), you could buy them at any drugstore. They had plastic or horn mouth pieces that came off for cleaning (remember pipe-cleaners?) and every now and then he would use a small pen knife to carve out the grime in the bowl.
