Uh-oh. that's why I don't do ebay. too easy to F up.

fall on your sword. take a negative. what would the buyer say in a neg feed? seller didn't honor sale of a 14k gold ring for 99 cents. you then can reply I screwed up:dontknow:

Done that. Sucks. I had about 20 go live before I caught the error. Some buyers were very cool. Others not so much so I shipped them the items for 99 cents. My bad so my penalty.

Happy ending. The seller canceled the transaction and I'm going to send him a silver half-dollar in place of it. To give you an idea. This was the ring for . 99 cents.

Although it still makes you sick makes you sick selling it for a dollar! By the way. So much for listing my Peyton Manning rookie card on eBay tonight! Barf!!! Lol

I am pretty sure there are plenty of people who just search for such errors. They can't be that surprised when it doesn't pan out.

I did that with a set of silverware and explained to the buyer my mistake and he asked what I wanted for them. When I told him he said he'd give me over twice what I asked. I invoiced him through paypal the difference and he left good feedback. Glad it worked out ok for you! People have to know errors are made when the price is so low.

yeah take the hit not worth the loss.

I have purchased multiple items that were listed in error like this. None of the sellers shipped the items to me.

1 guy sent me an email and said "don't expect me to send you the coin" or something like that. Like it was my fault that I clicked buy it now or something.

Dont ship it!...Ive done shii like that too before...You can refund them the money and tell them you cant ship it

Ebay will take the NEG away, just tell the buyer that there was a mistake...if they leave a negotive..raise hell with Ebay.

I bid $1.50 and won a $5,000 hot tub from a plumbing contractor who was new to Ebay. After the auction I emailed him to arrange pickup. He was being cheap by not setting a reserve price. All the items he was selling sold for next to nothing. I was not surprised that he would not honor the sale. After his first attempt at selling his feedback was all negatives and he became a non registered user.

Why should ebay take it away, it's a 100% justified negative if the buyer chooses to leave it. It's not Ebay's fault when a seller makes a dumb mistake, just fortunate the buyer was cool about it.

Years ago a coin dealer made a pretty bad one and listed a lot of very pricey gold coins all for buy it now of 99 cents. What a nightmare that must have been seeing you sold like 40 coins, and then seeing they were all for a buck!

It doesnt look like half the folks saw the conclusion so I am just quoting it here so all can see it has been resolved.

BK23 got lucky he was dealing with a decent person. I've never had this exact experience, but I have broke an item (or two) while packaging, after it was sold. It sucks when you have to ask a buyer to cancel a transaction, no matter the reason.

yep, it sure does. I often have an easy way out though because usually I have other similar items to what they bought and can give them something equal or usually better, just so I can be done with it.
