I took some time off to do some skiing. Got 2 weeks of great sking in the Northwest. Then I caught a "Montezuma's Revenge" virus or something that laid me up for a few days. But I'm back now. Yesterday was a clad day. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) But today was a great day. I hunted an old defunct amusement park area that I had hit many times. My first find was a 1909 Barber Quarter, very deep, about 10 inches. Then I found three separate Mercs in succession, all were at least six inches deep. Found a couple nickels and some wheaties. Also a 1907 Indian Head cent. All these were pretty deep and some were giving really weird signals. Last but not least, I popped a 1928 Stander, which was also about 10 inches.

All the finds:

Wow, Bob, that is one great hunt!!

There's nothing more exciting than digging those 10" signals. Tiny whispers of a signal, but BIG on the excitement factor.

Congrats,

Nice!!!! Silver Coinzzzzz

Yeah, Wow! Those five silvers look like they're in collector condition, especially two of the Mercs, with the bands on the fasces appearing almost uncirculated. Your lucky to dig coins is such extremely fine condition.

Great finds :)

That just reminded me when I was in the service in virgina the last day as we were getting ready to pull out I grabbed my detector and hit the playground on the base and every dig was silver and old .

They were under the swing sets , when I got out of the service I never got a chance to go back & I hope someone reading this might try it if it is still there.

Holy Smokes...You had one Heck of a Day...Congrats on your collector pieces

:o Very nice bunch of coins. I'll have to start following you around.

Congrats Bob! The SL and the Barber are beautiful! Great finds! I am also working an old amusement park and loving the finds. Good luck and keep hitting it hard!

Very grand hunt you had !! Congrats!

Wow bob! Been missing your posts as I really look forward to them. Congrats on the silver. I joined a group of hunters in our area. Nice group. I'm sure the group would welcome you as they did me. Had a good time in my first hunt with them even though we mostly just found clad. Here is the link to the group: http://n3tuf.tripod.com/index.html
