I took some time off to do some skiing. Got 2 weeks of great sking in the Northwest. Then I caught a "Montezuma's Revenge" virus or something that laid me up for a few days. But I'm back now. Yesterday was a clad day. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) But today was a great day. I hunted an old defunct amusement park area that I had hit many times. My first find was a 1909 Barber Quarter, very deep, about 10 inches. Then I found three separate Mercs in succession, all were at least six inches deep. Found a couple nickels and some wheaties. Also a 1907 Indian Head cent. All these were pretty deep and some were giving really weird signals. Last but not least, I popped a 1928 Stander, which was also about 10 inches.

All the finds:

Great finds! The pictures of that lovely silver are nice, too!

Really gorgeous finds! I need to get into some serious research and find me an old amusement park to dig. :)

Nice finds, I also have an Explorer II, can you go into detail about the really weird signals. #'s and sounds.

awesome Bob! did you use the 5" coil on that 10" deep barber? if so that is really impressive! you cleaned up at that spot! im glad to hear you are feeling better. hit me up one of these days soon and maybe we can get a hunt in.

Thanks everybody for the nice comments.

cntrydncr1: I'm glad you like my posts. You know, you're only a couple miles up the road from me. It's funny I haven't run into you detecting. Thanks for the info on that new club in Aston. That's only a couple miles down the road from me. I'll pass it on to hollowpointred. He's been looking for a club in our area. I'm in the South Jersey MD Club and have been since the Philly club was disbanded. Plus, I go out detecting with other friends, as well as by myself. Not as much as I used to. I'm losing interest somewhat. I don't know if I want to invest my time in another club at this point in time. But I appreciate your interest.

crocop: The signals I was talking about were from the deep pennies mostly. They just didn't sound right. I only use the smartfind screen. I don't use the digital screen. The target crosshairs were close to the right spot for pennies, but some were a little low and some were to the right. Some were reading where screw caps come in.

Keith: Good to hear from you again. That 5" Sunray coil started giving out a lot of false signals. I think the wires in the cable became frayed. Anyway, I put the old original 10" coil back on. That's when I started getting these deep signals in an area that I had hunted over and over again. Did you see cntrydncer's post about the new club in Aston? Check it out on losttreasure.com Maybe we can get together next weekend. I'll get back to you later in the week. HH

Bob
