A little CW action today with a couple of nice bullets, eagle button, round ball and lead sabot.
The flattened out carved 69 looks like it has initials carved into it. I believe the photo is clear enough to make it out.
A .69 is a good day. A carved bullet is a great day. Initials are a KILLER day!! Looks to me like you've got yourself a greatly-good killer day there, Jpro! (or something like that)
Great Finds!!!!! Can you make out the initials? I think it would be cool to find out what troops was in the area and pull up the old unit rosters. How great would it be to know the name or see a picture of the person who could of carved that bullet 150 years ago? Even better maybe someday it could be returned to a distant relative. You could track his entire tour from start to finish. While your doing all that research I'm sure you will find other great places to detect. It all started with a beep!!!
It's either a M or W depending how you look at it. The light is not great in the photo but if you look at the bullet length ways there is a B or what looks like a B.
