made a few good finds. A 1936 buffalo nick.??, a few musket and pistol balls, buttons, some kind of brass handle??, and another brass round piece with a groove around it, hollow on the inside, and some type of fitting for something on one end. The silver small oval button has a faint "fleur de li" symbol on it. Hope yall like and HH!!!

Nice early silver cufflink circa 1800

cufflinks back then had loop shanks like the flat buttons?

Yes and the correct term is linked buttons. Cufflinks is a modern term as these buttons were not only used for cuffs. You might find the other siide if you go back though I never have

Nice finds, especially the silver linked button! :icon_thumright:

thanks guys and thanks "toasted" for telling me that. I never found any cufflinks or link, so I had no idea they had the loop on the back also..

What you have here is a cap to a keg spigot. The cap fit over the valve on the spigot and allowed access with a key to turn it on/off. I find them all the time on late 18th/early 19th century sites. Congrats on your other finds as well :icon_thumright:
