Had a fun hunt with IFoundIt.

Scored another LC and a few other nice finds from the new spot. The Minnie ball with shell intact was a first for me. Only two inches down. I was pumped to look into the "I" of that infantry coat button. The little copper hand claw sure is interesting.
Ifoundit scored a few nice flat buttons and that big earring. It has some type of large white stone. Colt pistol shots are always fun to pull out..

Nice finds Deadhead. Any idea what the large iron rings are? I found one that is similar at a seep/spring next to an old abandoned trail used in the 1800's and early 1900's. It was the only signal I got in the area.

Yeah, they're bridal rings from horses.
Iron ring where a few leather straps came together. They turn up in fields, on old roads, and out front of old homes from carriages, plow harnesses, and saddles.
I don't really know too much more on top of that

That would fit the scenario in my case. The ring I found was in the shallow part of the seep. I could imagine maybe someone was watering their horse and the ring fell off into the water. Thanks for the info!

Great finds and a nice little variety too. Seems to be a sweet spot you have got yourself, cant wait to see what it you pull out. Good Luck!! :icon_thumright:

I failed to mention the thinner iron ring is actually a barrel band. sometimes they can be confused with all the rust.
