Back To The Old Country Store: V Nickles , IHs, & A Nice Button

This past weekend I got chance to return to the old country store site for another hunt. The bean field still hasn't been plowed but I decided to give it a try anyway. For a change I decided to switch my Garrett 750 to relic mode with very little discrimination and work small areas very slow. It paid off with 2 V nickles (1905 & 1908), 2 IHs (1908 & one no date), 3 wheats (1912, 1919, 1941), a thimble, 3 pieces of play money, a nice old miltary button, a piece of a bell, a buckle, a few whatzits, and 2 marbles (eyeball finds). It was a fun hunt and it still amazes me just how many coins have been recovered there over the years by many detectorists. I also included a couple of finds from the day before at a 1940s yard near my home: a neat Junior Police badge and a small bottle found while digging a deep trash signal. Absolutely awesome finds! I love the button & badge, hope those clean up real nice for ya! If you do attempt to clean em up please post after pics for us! And Id be goin back to that spot again & again...........look forward to future posts of yer finds in this spot!

Great finds Jim,i also like the badge alot.....The soil in N.C. looks like it reeks havoc on IH's(V's seem in better shape)..are they easily cleaned? kinda looks like they have been sitting in salt water for ages...hope they clean up nice
