Back to the woods, neat bracelet, Indian and a "V"

I went back to one of our wooded spots today, as I said we have pretty much cleaned it out but it still keeps producing something...Today I spent 3 hours in the thick and about 1/2 hour before I had to go I got a pretty neat bracelet I was thinking "how did we miss that signal" it about blew my headphones off.
(does anyone know what kind of stones they are?) it appears to be silver plate.

Then about 20 feet away I got the 1883 Indian, and 5 Min. later the 1904 "V" both with incredible detail,
Its the nicest "V" I have gotten, the ground really eats them up..

Thanks for looking....H.H. TnT

Those are some good digs. The coins are in great shape and the bracelet cleaned up nicely. Good job.

Very nice!

I can't wait until I dig a V nickle.

The stones in the bracelet look kinda like tiger eyes to me but I'm no expert.

TNT,

How the heck did that V stay so clean??? :o
I just found my first V, an 1899 and that thing is dark brown and rough, but very readable.

How do you pick your woods spots? Is it a random thing? or is some research involved.I'd like to try some woods detecting.

Hey Ice...
Yes this is as nice as they come out of the ground, Most of mine are also brown and pitted, must be the soil at this site..

also we do both research and random on our sites, we use satelite photos to pick the site and then go check it out..so far we have done pretty good.

Just for my personal curiosity, when a person like yourself is working a wooded area (or field) is it because it was a known former use such as a park or a residence, or whatever, at one time? I can't imagine just working a wooded area at random. Obviously you did some prior research...if so, what sparked this search? What is the relationship of this wooded area to the local urban area?

Well to be honest we hunt woods all the time that produce nothing at all...we do choose wooded areas at random and we also research some area's. This particular site was on the edge of a town that was founded in the early 1700s and was close to a water supply, we thought it might have seen some action back in the day. on this site we were right Between 6 of us we pulled 150-200 coins 100+ buttons and much more, but we get skunked on others allot. Also as I said there is 6 of us so we share the work load to find and check out new sites.
