Was dredging a small creek across the river at the neighbors and this was in my pan. There isn't supposed to be any gold in these creeks but I was doing some testing just to make sure, came up with this. It has 10 total sides.
Any Ideas?

i'm not familiar with your area, but i find a lot of naturally faceted garnets here in ga. some are irregular but some are almost perfect. they can be very dark ,almost black like schorl or tourmaline to red .

Thanks for the info guys!
I had a chance to get it to a Jeweler today who buys and deals with gem stones from all over the world. After taking a long look through several different lights, he believes it's a Garnet. But he did say that he had never seen one that shape and it was very unusual.
Thanks for looking...

i have some fairy crosses that looks just like the small gem it amazing how nature can make stright line out of gem
