Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!

Wife and I were standing in the kitchen, and when I looked out back
these gals were wandering past...

I prefer to shoot in RAW, as I get far better images after processing.
Check out these two pics below. I was shooting in RAW + .JPG (camera
makes two of each shot), and the RAW after 30 sec. of processing looks
just a bit better. The .jpg is consistent with what most any camera would
take.

I wouldn't be surprised if there would be a couple bulls in your pictures since they would have shed their antlers last month. We have deer, bear, moose, and mountain lion here in the neigborhood. We have seen elk less than a mile from here, unless they have come into the area after dark.
 

A good analogy for using RAW files is this: they are like the master files used in music recording. Make all copies from a raw file and your copies will even be great. They do take up a lot of space so I usually save them on flash drives instead of the pc. Those are nice views you have from your kitchen!
 

Beautiful. We see one now and then up in michigan while we're mushroom hunting. They are huge.
