Bad Checks

Do you know of "Free" websites that would assist in tracking down these THIEVES?

I don't know any "free" websites to help you "after-the-fact". Very few people use checks in my neck-o-the-desert. Someone wanting to pay with a personal check would be suspicious to me now-a-days. That having been said--

You can call their bank before you hand them the item. This will ensure at least two things: 1. Their account status: active or closed, and 2. If the account has sufficient funds to cover the purchase.

I loaned a guy 300 bux which he said he would pay back, He wrote me a check.. A couple people vouched for him.. So not giving it any thought I took it..

Went to the bake and deposited it, Bank calls next day.. Closed account. So I had to pay 300 plus 20 for bad check..

After finally getting ahold of this guy, He kept promising to make it right.. Said his wife closed the account. During his divorce.. Well this was wrote sept. 2010

I was looking for info on him.. Never any answer over the phone.. He just disappeared!
After all this time trying to run into him, To get 300 worth of satisfaction..

A friend of mine said this guy was trying to find me.. To make this right.. Well week before last.. I got a call, Went and met this guy.. He said he was sorry, Yada Yada Yada.. Once I had Cash in Hand, I wanted to introduse him to what The Pavement tasted like.. Instead I used my smarted judgement and just drove away.. Knowing to never take a check Again, Without Knowing for certein who it is from.. There are soooooo many ways to get even..

So it is Green In hand from now on, Or no deal..

Ya learned a lesson in life about trusting your fellow man . Small price to pay if you took the lesson to heart . Violent retribution can be estheticly rewarding but tough on the ears (human screams) .Also financially devastating if you fail to make enough of an impression that the deadbeat doesn't go to the law for protection . Such recovery is best left to professionals . If you are not a pro the rate for recovery will outweigh most bad checks . Pros don't work cheap or accept checks .

I failed to mention. $300check+$20bank fee=$320.. He gave me 4 $100 bills..

Being Short on funds, It did make me happy.. Couldn't have come at a better time..

Don't take checks. Or else figure into your budget a certain amount for 'uncollectible funds'.
