Bad news for BofA Dime hunters

The story to me confirmed in several banks today is that they are changing coin suppliers, no more clear wrapped rolls. they are switching to paper rolls which suck and take hours to do a box.The good news my last box? of clear wraps gave me 3 silvers

heh haven't heard this, that would mean they would be changing from brinks to garda or loomis , i don't see this happening, they aren't big enough to supply the volume that mega BofA branches need.

I'd be really surprised.

In my area they use Loomis, not Brinks.

All of the BofAs I've been to except for 1 were paper wrapped rolls. Scranton PA has the only BofA I've ever been to that uses Brinks. Most of mine use Dunbar.

The truth is, is that clear-wrapped Brinks dimes blow chunks. I have searched well over 100 thousand dollars worth of dimes and the producers are paper-wrapped. Of the clear-wrapped dime rolls that I've searched, they produce zilch and I cringe whenever I receive a box. I immiediately ask for a CWI box if available, and if not I get my cash back.
I've ordered lots of boxes from BOA.

brinks dimes are horrible in my area, never tried ordering/asking for coin at BofA, but I am sure they use brinks coin since my whole area is supplied with brinks. I am going to check someday at BofA to see what kind of dimes they use. I may consider asking them if they can order me halves again(brinks halves)

Hours per box? I blow through a box of paper in like 15-20 minutes. And they seem to have more Silver than the plastic ones.

Really doesn't take much longer... Plus, I've noticed the clear wrapped ones are a lot more prone to be short and, at least in my area the clear wrapped anything seems to produce a lot lower. Nickels, Dimes, and even pennies seem to produce a lot less than the paper wrapped ones.

FFD, I could have written those exact words myself!!!!

I've searched over $6,000 in Brinks clear wrapped, and never found one single silver.

I'm not finding tons of silver, but the only silver dimes I find are in String shotgun shells and CW.

For me out here the clear rolls have been pretty good producers.The reason it takes me a long time to search them is I open one end then shove them back in to save having to rewrap

same thing in the bay area on the dimes, except i did one box of paper rolls and i got 17 keeps so i dont mind the switch

When did they tell you this? I got a box from San Jose 2 days ago and it was the normal plastic wraps. Are they going to NF String variety?

It really depends on the area and what the banks choose. I've gotten NF String paper wrapped box of pennies from a BofA in San Diego while getting plastic Brinks boxes up here.

I guess I'm wrong then , BofA seems to be using paper in alot of places.

It's probably just LA then with the Mega LACCV processing center.

I buy all the CWR I can, but I've never seen a difference between CWR vs. Plastic. I get about 3 per $500 box I think? After I compile August stats I can be more precise. I think it just depends on how many hunters have hit a certain bank chain in your area. Maybe the banks that use plastic are cleaned out by to many hunters already because rim searching is way faster.

BAO in Ct has never had clear wrappers. And why would it take hrs to do dime boxes, if ya rim search it should go quick
