From talking with a friendly coin delivery guy he knew exactly why i wanted half boxes and said so does Loomis. Word is branhces are already being installed for comparitors to start culling silver from the coinage. Says they're doing it staggered at branches but its already started in some parts of the country, 3 to 6 months before it gets national. Wasn't sure if halves will be searched too but knows dimes and quarters for sure.

Might be looking at the last year of MWR searching. :o

just my .02 cu cents: the coin couriers will never do this as they make way too much $ processing coin from coin roll hunters. He was just trying to get you to stop ordering coin, as I'm sure he hates lifting the boxes.

If it was true, ::shivers:: ohh that would be a chilling thought. How far does the corruption of the government run? My uncle who is in the post office says that the mail isn't 12 million in debt. He says its more like they have 15million extra and says that postal service will never tank.

There my 3 cents, LOL.

We've heard this story before and it's never happened. Hopefully the delivery guy was just lying. Most likely he wanted you to stop ordering.

Are you talking about coin counters in bank branches or at the Loomis coin processing facilities.

What does government corruption have to do with this?

he just trying to get you to stop ordering coins. When i first started CRH I went to pick up my first box of halves and the teller told me theres no old coins in those boxes, they take them all out at the coin processing plant. I was Instantly discouraged by the comment and thought to my self well this sure sucks I'm never ordering again. When i got home and went threw the box i pulled 22 40% 2 1964, and a walker from the box. I knew then that It was just a comment to make me feel like i was waisting my time. That was 3 years ago and I'm still going strong, having ups and downs just like everyone else. However my silver stash keep increasing every month. Don't listen to what you hear. I order from a bank supplied by loomis and they are by far the most friendly that i order from, and where i have got my best boxes. HH

I still think the work involved will limit the effectiveness. Seriously, we get excited over 1-2 silver dimes per box, or nowadays, a silver half or two per box. The companies aren't going to spend thousands to get a few pieces.

I know I won't give up till I start encontering 100+ box skunk streaks, then I'll consider it, till then, grab all you can! HH, Maverick.

Brinks culls, they obviously make enough for it to be worthwhile. In the volumes they turn over I imagine they get several pounds of silver per branch per day. Think abotu how much we together get weekly, then factor it by 100. Thats what theres to gain and coin comparitors are cheap. Yes to tool up for it is costly but obviously they see the high prices as worth it. I hope hes wrong but he seemed to not mind the hauling, gives them a job to make money at theyselves. His tone seemed to be indifferent to CRHing, just another stop in his opinion.

he did good then, if he sounds indifferent.

When the 100+ box skunk streaks hit. then we'll talk.

It really sounds like BS. Like the guy who goes fishing, telling you the honey hole is no good. can you see this?

It's not millions in debt, it's BILLIONS with a B in debt. Because they have to pay pensions and med insurance for all those past employees. If they did not have to pay that it would be fine. Just like all the other states and municipalities that are going broke.

If branches and couriers start culling silver, I'll be standing outside my local branch all day offering people cash for coins before they even get in the bank 8-)

No other agency, private or federal, is required to fund pensions and benefits 75 years in advance like the Post office is.

FYI, the couriers do not cull silver. No matter what some entry level, box-hauling grunt tells you.

I had the same thought about coin stores before, watching some people go in with silver coin and get low balled. The only problem is it is private property and they can ask you to leave. So you would have to shout or be like the payday loan people where I live and stand on the sidewalk with a sign.

Well it would be a safe bet to say it is a matter of time before they process it out. Silver at $35 ounce probably not, silver at $100 ounce, more likely.

..........really again? Highly doubtful......

It's true, I read it on the Internet.
