Baden-Wurtemburg?

Hi, I live in the US and will be visiting Stuttgart in April/May. What are the rules/laws? We will be visiting the Limes Road and Cologne, and wonder if it is allowed there or if anyone knows places to detect in Baden-Wurtemburg area. Are there any clubs in that area? Daughter and her fam live in Stuttgart- son in law is interested in getting into detecting with their kids, as well. We are planning to buy a detector for them. Would appreciate any knowledge you can give me.

in Stuttgart, there is a considerable US presence. Are they by chance .mil?
If so, go to Panzer Kaserne; Training areas, I think they may have built the US high school nearby. An old Roman road cuts through the training area, and you can still see the old cobbles. There are also several Celtic mounds nearby, too. Also, there is trench-work done in the 16th century for hunting parties. Nobility would stand in the trenchworks, and the servants would drive the animals into the ambush.
