I found this really nice bale seal at a late 1700s sight, it is in great condition! I was wondering if anyone can help identify the makers mark. Thanks for looking, Rick.

A very interesting 'hanging sheep' seal. We have quite a number of old bottles with similar picture here in Oz. But, of course, it's more likely to be of British origin.

Hi all :)

It is without much doubt a cloth seal.
It might be from England, but the area around Burgundy and Flanders in todays Holland and Belgium is a possibility too.
The sign is the hanging ram of the Order of the Golden Fleece and as far as I know it was used as a quality mark by the cloth manificturers of the region.
