Bale Seals?

I found these two pieces along with 8 flat buttons in about a 20ft square area.they look to have and edge around them.Bale seals seem to be the logical answer but Im new to Civil war relics.

I don't think you have lead seals. I think what you have are some splattered lead, maybe a bullet or round ball fired straight down into the ground?

I'm thinking just flattened lead as well. Civil War soldiers often flattened out pieces of lead for poker and gaming chips.
