Ball handle or T handle Shovel?

I just went online to purchase a shovel. It was supposed to be a simple task. Pick the length and brand and hit the buy it now button. Then i ran across a Ball handle shovel. My first instinct is to purchase a T handle but is their an advantage to using a Ball handle?

We find the T handle version of the Sampson outsells the ball handle version by about 15 to 1....

New to Metal Detecting,,,going with the Lesche 31 T handle,,,Bad knee's , the T handle would help me get up easier, than the ball What do you guys prefer Serrated or Non Serrated

My son has the T handle without the Serrated. He Advised me to get the T handle with the serrated because of the issues he has with roots. I have since purchased the T-handle with the serrated edge but life has prevented me from using it. Maybe next weekend things will change.
